City of Pacific Historical Committee Meeting.

discussed.
- Mark
brought an online video (recommended by Jim Morgan)
with information on a Walnut Creek, California
historical (and art) walking tour.

- Walnut
Creek has implemented the tour for people to explore
by means of a smart phone, apps, street signage,
(audio version also available). Over one hundred
locations are discussed. Web site available at
all times over the entire world via the Internet..
- Tumwater,
Washington also has a similar online set up with
each indicated location not longer than three
minutes in duration.
- Pacific's
Interurban trail could have locations like Walnut
Creek
- Pacific
could mark each location with GPS coordinates
thereby becoming a part of a geocaching network.
- Goals for
Historical Committee:

Repository of Historical Information (data base).
- Geographic
locations within the city for signage of past
events important to the growth of the city.
- Internet
Access as guide to various historical spots of
interest for a walking tour of the town.
- Determine
subjects that may or may not be used for our
historical tourists and citizens' scavenger hunt.
- Signs in
the larger parks that explain their historical
creation.
